A nature reserve a few steps from home (one of many), ideal to carry on in Italy the topic "Genius loci, or photographing your own local patch" started years ago in Sweden.
A morainic area that was the most gold-bearing land of ancient Rome in the pre-Christian era, where huge piles of rounded stones of glacial origin are mixed with the human-made ones (the "anthropic conoids"), those moved with bare hands by thousands of men (slaves?) as many years ago.
The whole is nowadays covered by generations of mosses, bushes and trees that have transformed the site into a... mine of visual inspiration I have just started to extract; which promises to be a very pleasant effort indeed.
